Seymour and District Memorial Hospital engaged Health Recruitment Specialists to recruit a Chief Executive Officer in light of the retirement of the incumbent.
The CEO role at Seymour is typical of a rural health service: we required an all-rounder, but one with superior management and clinical skills. It was vital that the right person be found. HRS took the time to understand our needs, and the role the appointee would have to fill both in the hospital and the broader community. That we were presented with a short list of outstanding candidates in short time is testament to HRS’ professionalism and skill.
Through the process, HRS kept me informed of progress and offered advice on ensuring that we had strategies to promote and market our hospital to potential candidates.
I have no hesitation in recommending HRS to any organisation seeking assistance in securing the right people. I would use HRS should the need arise in the future.
Health Recruitment Specialists (HRS) has assisted Wodonga Regional Health Service with one senior appointment to our Management Team – the Nurse Manager for the Perioperative Suite.
To enable appropriate service delivery it was essential to find the right person for the role and the availability of skilled specialist managers is such that the market is highly competitive. Our own recruitment efforts had not yielded the calibre of applicant that we were seeking, despite the considerable amount we spent on advertising in the major metropolitan newspapers.
Additionally relocation to a regional area can be a deterrent to people who may otherwise be interested in the role. As a specialist in the field, we entrusted the task to HRS to undertake a Search process.
The results HRS achieved for us were outstanding securing an exceptional person for our organisation. As HRS took the time to understand our team and the needs of the business, they found a candidate that has the right fit to meet the needs of our organisation into the future.
Throughout the process, the HRS consultant kept me informed of progress and provided sound advice on strategies to promote and market our health service to the potential candidates. This was important in building the confidence of the candidates in the professionalism of our organisation.
I would have no hesitation in recommending HRS to any organisation seeking assistance with securing the right people for their business.
Ballarat District Nursing & Healthcare have engaged Health Recruitment Specialists to assist with two major appointments in recent times. One was to recruit a Director of Corporate Services and the other to provide a Chief Executive Officer for our organisation.
The Director of Corporate Services was a new position, after a comprehensive restructure of our organisation and we were provided with advice on selection and a range of good applicants was sourced to provide a suitable person to fill this position.
The Chief Executive appointment relied extensively on the HRS network of contacts and they sourced 22 applicants for the position. Our committee of Management required the person have good health qualifications and experience, and the ability to be entrepreneurial in their thinking. We were fortunate to attract several people who met the criteria, however after interviews, settled for a person a little younger than we intended with exactly the right background and personality to handle this complex role.
By employing HRS to undertake the sourcing of applicants, their advice on the assets and liabilities of the candidates, we were able to have a new person in place very quickly and have the period of time between the resignation of the previous CEO and the commencement of the new CEO cut to a minimum.
We have been delighted with the outcome of the above, it certainly saved a lot of time and effort on the part of the organisation.
We were very pleased that we were able to secure a high quality candidate who did not respond to the initial advertisement. As a result, I would have no hesitation in recommending Health Recruitment Specialists to any other health services wishing to source quality applicants within an ever increasingly competitive recruitment environment.
